Rim Banna (b.1966) was a Palestinian singer, lyricist, composer and activist from Nazareth.
Banna received popularity in the 1990s after she recorded her own versions of Palestinian children’s songs that were on the verge of being forgotten.
Her songs focused on the suffering of the Palestinian people. Banna released 11 albums and performed in various Palestinian, regional and international festivals, where she represented the Palestinian voice. In 2000, she received the Award for Palestine.
Rim Banna passed away in Nazareth on the 24th of March 2018 following a battle with breast cancer.
