Yahya is a young recluse doctor, with a speech problem that impairs him in his work. After his parents’ death, he moves to his childhood city, Alexandria, where he observes the changes of society. He befriends a nightclub bouncer, listens to an anonymous pianist, and at times, loses his speech problem, like when he is with a woman he takes for being a high-end call girl. He observes the residues of the once cosmopolitan Alexandria dissolving into an estranged chaotic city.
